I just saw a painting by Cezanne of apples, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This is

my tribute. I'm thinking of it as Cezanne's apples.

When I went to NYC recently I wanted to
find a scarf like this. I didn't. But when I
got home, I found it at Target!

after seeing the movie Coco and Igor. Her

These acrylics are 36 x 48 and are to be hung side by side in a beach house in North Carolina.

I hope they are "juicy" enough. My theme this summer seems to be hammocks. I'm thinking next of a hammock strung between palm trees with beach in background.

The oil spill and tar on our beautiful white beaches reminds me of the little bit of sand I
collected from the Sahara. It stands beside the lapis lazuli baboon I bought in Cairo.

When I was 4 or so, we lived on my grandfather's farm

for 6 months. This was the nearest store. Mama

bought me my first nailpolish here at the Blackman

store. I revisited it 70 years later, on Friday.

The Wisteria has grown up through the floorboards

on the back porch, wrapped around the chair and

climbed up to the ceiling.

Quite a powerful wind we had this morning. A shutter blew open and banged against the side of the house. I, believe it or not, performed a circus trick. I drug a chair to the shutter, but needed another 2 feet of arm to reach the latch. There was a bamboo pole nearby, with a hollow in the top. By lifting the latch and placing it over the eye, after 10 tries and a lot of bad words, I managed to have the latch drop right into the eye!!! WOW.

Many years ago I did this watercolor portrait of Virginia Woolf. A lady bought it because it looked just like her daughter. I wonder where it is now.

I'm working on this outdoor scene today. I plan to take out the poplar's and put instead, a big, colorful oak tree, and neaten up the iris. Irises???

I wanted to buy one of these fabulous books, in Urgup in Cappadocia, but the proprieter said they were too expensive for me, and written in old Arabic, which even the new Arabians couldn't read!

Sorry, I didn't get a photo of the big fluffly snowflakes mixed with rain here today about 2 o'clock in the afternoon. It's very cold. Lots of snow 10 miles to the north. 49 of 50 states had snow today. Wow.

Today Little Black, the cat, cried, and wouldn't eat even though there was food in his dish. I think he didn't like the possoms coming to dine out of his bowl in the night, on the porch. I gave him a clean bowl with fresh food and he gobbled it up and was happy.
